I started off the day with a few goals. 1.)  Find and meet the Wongfu Productions team 2.)  Find the batmobiles 3.)  Meet up with my friend Kelly Huddleston 4.)  Go out   I must say that I am very proud to have accomplished everything. It took some teamwork with Chris to do number 1 and 2, but I did it!   Anyway, the day started off with long lines. I learned very quickly that if you have an early morning shift like 10:30 am, they make you wait until 10:30 am to get your badge. As a result, if…

You know the day is going to be awesome when a wet tongue wakes you up in the morning (a doggy tongue, you pervs)! I woke up to Atty, Eric’s beagle mix licking my face, quickly followed by his brother, Leo. Despite my best intention to ignore them, wet noses kept nudging at my hands, begging me to pet them. In fact, when I tried to half-ass pet them, in other words, just put my hand on them without any petting motions, Atty would patiently nudge my hand and lick my face until I paid attention. Finally, after ten minutes,…

Fourth of July was in general a very chillaxing day. I woke up to the unpleasant noise of Leo (take a normal dog bark and amplify it 10X, that is how loud his bark is), Eric’s Korgie/Beagle mix, howling at the sound of sirens. Because I had completely passed out the night before from exhaustion, when I woke up, I found myself extremely disorientated. For a few seconds I thought to myself, “since when did my roommate get a dog?” Then I realized that I was not in Austin, Texas anymore, but in fact, in my friend’s loft in downtown…

Being a small business ourselves, Moth to Flame loves to support other small businesses as well. We understand that one of the biggest challenges of a small business is sustainability and cash flow. Our recent project with David Lowe, the founder of Origin of Cool, involves their new product “Überpong“. Watch the behind the scenes to see what the buzz is about and stay tuned for the Origin of…

Congratulations McCombs Class of 2012! Read more about director, Christine Chen (McCombs Full-Time Class of 2012) on the McCombs Commencement Spotlights!   I recommend reading this while listening to Le Rallye by Tindersticks. Running around from project to project, I can’t believe that only two years ago Moth to Flame didn’t exist. My team and I have grown so much over that time; yet I feel that all we have accomplished pales in comparison to our goals. Moth to Flame came to life right before I entered business school. At the time, I made films under “Christine Chen.” One late…

People define privacy in many different ways. Some people do not mind sharing their lives with the public and even rely on their public image to make money and build careers, while others go to extremes to avoid revealing private information. how can i get my ex girlfriend back In my opinion, it is almost virtually impossible to make everyone happy, so the best solution is to have a very transparent option for people to opt out of sharing their information. The problem with the way Apple and Google collect data as mentioned in the “Apple, Google Collect User Data”…

After a great night with Devang, we wanted to spend the next day further exploring Mumbai. Devang had mentioned, “The Crawford Market is usually full of a lot of people and dirty and extremely crowded, but it’s where you find every day stuff that locals buy. Stuff there is really cheap. It’s really crowded and dirty…you probably wouldn’t want to go.” Extremely crowded? Dirty? Cheap? Paul and I said, “Hell ya!” We set off the following morning after a few hours of work (because the internet was FREE) to find this Crawford Market. Before we got too far, I noticed…

The beauty of being a filmmaker is that I get to relive experiences whenever I review and edit my footage. Sometimes this is not necessarily a positive thing, however, 90% of the time it is. Despite having to review approximately 50 hours, 1.5 Tb worth of footage, I welcomed it. India, a life changing experience in person and even more so through the camera. Here is what I came up with for my first pass at the footage (besides the trailer).   I hope it gives you as much joy watching it as it did for me editing. The music…

A beautiful couple and a beautiful wedding. What more could one ask for? I had a blast at this wedding, filming, dancing on the floor with my camera, and even taking some pictures in the photo booth. I met Marco through my MBA program at UT and he asked me whether I could film his wedding about 2 weeks before his wedding! Of course I said yes. Here are some photos that I took as well.
